Default drumkit from hell

i recently picked up a copy of drumkit from hell 2 a couple of weeks ago just to do some personal stuff but i load the rtas into PT and i hooked my midi keyboard in through my digi002 and it works if your using it reall slow but as soon as you do anything fast or more than 1 key it just pretty much stops working. It has a CPU meter on it and it says like 2% cpu usuage then i press a key and it goes to like 90%. Im using a dual 2.0 g5 i only have 512 ram but i figured this would be enough power to run that plugin. I just wanted to see if maybe i got some settings wrong or something setup wrong or if it is probably just not enough ram before i went and spent money on ram. Thankss

It may be ram. That is pretty much hardly any ram at all.

But at the same token it should be enough to power 1 plug in. What is the minimun specs required/suggested to run this plug in ?? Should be printed on the box, or somewhere..

Also,, is this the first kind of problem you had with your system ?? Or does it do this alot ??

To be honest....a dual 2.0 G5 and only 512mb of RAM?
Somebody needs to open up that wallet and let the moths fly out
Get at least....at least 1gig of ram dude! OSX loves RAM!!!!! No matter if it's PTLE or anything else.
I run DFHS on my G4-1.4Ghz 1.25gigs of Ram and it runs like a mutha f***a!!!!!
HERE'S a extremely heavy example of DFHS in InSaNe settings! The snare blasts in this tune alone will choke a system with low amounts of Ram.
HERE'S an not so heavy tune using DFHS too!

I've seen various things that said you should not use it as an RTAS plugin. Try using it as Rewired plugin instead.

Thanks for the responses guys! On the box it just says 256 ram required so i guess thats why i figured i would be ok with 512.I want at least another 512 in ram but im as broke as they come right now. Also how do you run it as a rewired plug in?

I don't think dfh2 is re-wire capable.
Lookie>>>>MAC (VST®2.0, ASIO™, Soundmanager™, OMS™, Audio Units™, Core Audio™, RTAS™) And I know East West said something about those Kompakt samplers having a rough time in RTAS mode. Thats why I went with the DFHS.

Sounds about right. I have a G4 dp 1.25 w/ 2GB Ram and have the same results. The samples sound great but big deal 'cause for us pro toolers It's pretty much useless. It does say on the box That it works with RTAS and also on their site but I've had a tech support email stating it doesn't work in RTAS. Probably a problem with Kompakt lite that comes with it.

Reason is rock solid and their new drum refill looks fantastic. I'll stick with what works
