Mmm. I'm even too lazy to RIP DVDs. Several hundred laser disc collection, became several hundred DVDs, which became some Blu Ray... which all now sit in boxes in storage,... and I just watch stuff on streaming or buy on Amazon Prime video (love the iPad Pro with Amazon video that for carrying around movies).

Now actually important stuff like music Many hundred of CDs... they are all carefully ripped to lossless AAC and kept in iTunes. And sure I'll listen to some streaming stuff.

I'm still old school enough that I want to experience something in it's originally produced form. That's why I've got a couple hundred lp's that still get played. Not to mention I get to see the neat cover art. There are some things that high tech just can't replicate.

I also have records, but that is totally different thing. DVD content ripped off of the disc is just practical.

Practical to you but not to me. I like simple and your way isn't. I don't want to deal with high tech all the time - I leave that stuff in the studio.

Jack, you will need another DVD player - no getting around it. There is this though, that should do what you want: https://www.amazon.ca/LG-Region-Free.../dp/B071XRGM7S and this https://www.amazon.ca/Esky%C2%AE-Ext.../dp/B005QJLT7S

Janne - He wants to watch his DVD's, whether it is a dead format or not :)

I'll have to see whether they're available in the USA. Keep in mind that players like this generally aren't covered by a warranty from the manufacturer.
