Default Firewire external drive isn\'t recognized?

PIII 733Mhz, 256RAM

I installed a firewire card into my PC, then borrowed my brother's external Firewire drive which he uses on his Mac laptop.

Now aside from the fact I might need some software to open the Mac files, I can't seem to get my PC to recognize the drive. I connect the drive via the firewire cable, I have loaded the driver, the drive is on, but when I restart, the drive doesn't come up.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Any ideas?

Do I need to partition the drive in DOS first?
Where could I get the correct driver?

if you right click on my computer and go to properties > device manager... the drive will probably show up there but you will have to tell it that it is a removable device and assign a drive letter.

It doesn't show up there. There is an error sign (!) which I think means it knows it is there, but it doesn't know what to make of it.
The manual said I might need to partition it in DOS, but I don't know how to do that.

if you partition it, you will erase everything on the drive.
