Turn off: Record Enable tied to track selection..??

So I recently updated my software to the 2018 Pro Tools.

Recently noticed that every time I select a track, it automatically becomes record enabled. Becoming very inconvenient at times, how do you turn this off?? Thanks in advance...

I'm confused. You're not the first to have this issue, but I am unaware of how it ever could be turned on or off(and been using PT for 14 years) Maybe check thru Preferences. If nothing shows up, trash Prefs and reset them and see if that helps

There really isn't a preference that should/could do this.

Is there anything unusual about the GUI? Can you post a screen shot of these tracks in record (post two screen shots with different tracks highlighted and therefore those in record.)

Cubase has a feature like this but I've never seen it in Pro Tools.

Could it be a stuck key on the keyboard?

Are we talking instrument/MIDI or audio tracks? Lots of past discussions on "auto arming" on DUC with instrument/MIDI tracks. Including trashing prefs and other approaches to fix this.

So anyhow, *always* start with trashing prefs when troubleshooting. Has that been tried here?

If I select one or multiple MIDI tracks they are automatically RECORD enabled. I didn't use a controller keyboard for years, but now that I am I find this incredibly annoying. so this is just one of those "the way it is" things? I have an AKAI MPK249. so there is no way to turn off this "feature"?
