Re: Need to build the most sound proof drum booth ?
Well, the standard procedure for soundproofing is double walls. In other words you frame a second wall over the existing a few inchess apart. Then fill with sound-proof typhe insulaton before sheathing with drywall. This kills a lot of sound. After that you can put soundboard over the drywall and/or add the various baffling available.Should reduce by 50 to 90 %.

The keys are "mass" and "air tight".
A double stud or double wall are good methods, and concrete block with an interior frame wall is even better. Stagger your sheetrock (5/8") / hemosote - also known as soundboard (1/2") / sheetrock (1/2") layers - first layer vertical, second layer horizontal, next layer vertical. Mount the first layer on RC (resillent channel) attached to the framing. Make sure you tape and mud all seams for each layer. Good seals on all doors are also important, as are heavy, solid core doors. A "sound trap" (double set of doors, with a small "hallway" between them) will also increase the isolation. Windows are a troublesome area - best to avoid them if possible, but if they're already there, either frame over them or seal them very well. Sound absorbing materials (acoustic foam, compressed fiberglas, etc) can improve the sound inside the booth but will do little or nothing to eliminate sound escaping the room. Best of luck with your noise issues.
