Default Troubles with iTunes

I just recently recorded a mix in protools sounding nice a full, moved it over to iTunes, and it sound thin and shrill. The cd that was recorded from it sound thin and shrill. I don't get it. I also use toast and get a high end sibilence in toast 9 that transfers over to the cd....

Any answers...

Check iTunes preferences: it can be that the equalizer or soundenhancer is activated.
