Default curious midi problem...channels?

Hi everyone-
I have a bit of a curious issue that I can't seem to figure out. I'm running PTLE 6.7 and have a Roland D-50 for my controller and two rack synths - a Roland XV-5050 and a Korg Trinity Rack. Ok, here's the issue - the only way for me to hear the midi playback of anything assigned to the Trinity is for me to press the Global/Multi edit button. If I have it in its regular 'default' mode (like when you first turn it on), and I play my PT session, no sound. When I press the Global/Multi button, everything is fine. I've scoured the Trinity manual looking for answers but haven't had luck. My best guess is that I have incorrect channel settings either in the trinity or in my controller. Anyone out there with ideas?

Thanks,
Tommy
