I used to "+1" on ideascale but this'll have to do...

It's a definite showstopper not being able to easily have the memory location move to the current cursor position by simply CTRL-clicking on the marker name in the Memory Locations Window.

My workaround for now is:

Since I work with "Link Timeline and Edit Selection",

(1) Type Shift+/ to UNLINK Timeline and edit selection
(2) Click (NOT CTRL-Click) on the Marker name in the Memory Location Window. This will move your session to the Memory Location itself, but the cursor will stay in the same position.
(3) CTRL-Click on the Memory Location Marker itself in the Markers Lane near the top of your Pro Tools Window. This will move the Marker to your cursor location.
(4) Press the LEFT ARROW button to return to the cursor location.
(5) Type Shift+/ again to LINK Timeline and Edit Selection.

Obviously, if you work without using "Link Timeline and Edit Selection", you can skip a couple of steps...

This is the shortest route I can find so far, and until it's fixed (hopefully?), the muscle memory has been getting faster.

G.

.
This works just fine over here. CTRL-click onto a marker in the timeline makes it jump to the cursor position. If you want it to work in the marker window, ctrl-click on it and select the update position check mark.

Say for example, target marker is #5: Place cursor at desired new location, hit "period"- numpad 5 - "enter" - "enter". Marker will relocate to cursor. "Update marker position" has to be checked in the marker dialog, once checked it'll stick on every marker relocate.

OK, problem solved for sure. Once you pointed me to that checkbox, "Update Position" located in the "Edit Memory Location" Window itself, in the section just below the Name and Number, I checked it and now everything works at it traditionally has.

I was concerned that I'd have to update ALL markers by checking this checkbox on each one -- but no! The box is universally checked across all markers, and the original functionality is restored for me.

Thank you both, Frank and Rich.

From the 2023.12 Release Notes:
Quote:
The "Update Position" and "Update Selection" checkbox last-used state in the Edit Memory Location Window is now remembered between sessions (PT-312458)
