Default Dithering

I'm probably thinking too much and confusing this for myself.......

I understand I need to dither to go down in bitrate; like from 24 to 16. But if I;ve got plugins on the master bus and bounce a 24/48 session to a 24/48 file, do I still need to dither?

No. Only use dither for reducing the bitrate.

What about the dithering in Waves plugs like the L3? If on the mater bus, should it be left on?
