Mac keyboard trouble in Protools
Hello all, it's nice to be here and I'm hoping someone can help. I am running LE 8.0.4 on a Mac Mini (bought 11/09) with Snow Leopard and the standard wired Mac Keyboard. In a nutshell, I can only get some of the Mac keys to function as the key commands in Protools. Strangely, the F1-F10 keys work correctly as the modes and tools- except for F8, the Grabber tool. (That key when pressed currently looks like the Expose 4 boxes, and just zooms the Protools screen/s in and out.) I also don't have the rest of the main keyboard's Protools commands. I have seen pics of the "Protools" keyboard with the rest of the commands that should be working, but aren't. For example, aren't the Mac keyboard's standard 1-5 keys supposed to be the Zoomer tools, & so on?
I have taken a peek at both my Mac's Sys Prefs (e.g. keyboard submenus) and the Setup-Prefs in Protools, but no dice.
So, in addition to needing to fix F8, any other ideas or redirects on how I can get the rest of the keyboard to have its full commands? If anyone knows exactly how my preferences are supposed to look, and can list these or guide me through this, it would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.
