Default Can I use a Yamaha MGP 24x Mixer with PT 10/11

Hi and thanks in advance for taking the time to look at my question. I am just starting to set up a small in home studio. So far I have Pro Tools 10 and probably will upgrade to 11 soon. I have a PreSonus FP10 Interface. I will be buying a computer soon Probably an HP with windows 8. I am also setting up for live playing and play back. My question is can (or how) I use a Yamaha MGP 24x mixer with Pro tools? My first thought is it would act as a larger interface but the more I think about it that probably doesn't work. I will be recording a lot of different instruments so I thought it would be nice to have certain instruments (drums, guitar, piano etc...) set up and ready to go at all times. I guess I am looking for advice on the best way to go. Maybe just use the mixer for Live sound and playback or will it be helpful to use the mixer along with PT. Thanks again for your time.

Hi, Looks like it's an analog mixer with digital processing built in, but it can't interface directly to Pro Tools. So if you wanted to use it in that way, you would need an additional interface. You should be able to record on the mixer with a USB flash drive then import the audio into Pro Tools, but you might as well just have a Pro Tools DAW if you're going to do that.
