Default Removing floor noise "hiss" from stereo acoustic recording

Hi guys,
I'm just wondering what's the best way to remove floor noise "hiss" from an acoustic recording,
Thanks in advance

What I would also recommend, with a slight twist on how its handled. What I like to do is insert the plugin, find a section with noise but no playing(you only need a second of two) and run the learn function. Once the plugin has learned and is doing a good job of removing the noise, I then save the plugin settings as a preset. Then I highlight the entire track, call up the Audiosuite version of the plugin, recall the preset(saved from the inserted plugin) and render it(then remove the inserted plugin). Why do that, you may ask? Simple. The inserted plugin has tons of latency(but it does work quite well).

An alternative free method that may work; Insert the EQ III 1-band EQ. Set it as a low-pass filter and set the frequency to the top(20KHz?) and select the frequency control for automation. By showing that parameter on the track and grabbing the line, you can have this low-pass filter slide down to kill hiss in areas where the desired audio is missing or low enough that the hiss stands out(I this on guitar/bass bits where they let a note/chord ring out(like the last note of a song) and it works quite nicely

Great tool. In preview, you have the option of auditioning the result (sound with noise removed) or the actual removed noise. This is a big help in knowing when you've gone too far. You should hear little or none of the desired signal in the noise. But it's amazing how well it can work. I consider myself a real novice with RX5, but I've gotten rid of traffic rumble, footsteps, air conditioning and even a bit of self-noise from my crappier microphones. Really experienced users can work wonders.

Roll off the highs with a little eq and done.

Rx can actually do much better job than EQing the highs. If you find the noisy spot without music, teach it to the plugin, it can almost surgically remove most of the noise without hurting the frequency spectrum.

What I would really like to know is, who has some tips for minimizing this in the first place?

This is all about the right mic matched to the right preamp.

A mic with low self noise, paired with a pre that has lots of clean gain, and I highly doubt you'd have a problem. But a low output ribbon with the wrong pre could be disaster.

Use quality gear in an acoustic environment that doesn't introduce noise. There is really nothing more to it.
