yesterday i installed some software and today i wanted o start my protools le 7.4 on pc, and BÄÄM (0x80000003) problem

i can not start my Protools,What the..... ist going on here?

i uninstalled it and then installed but it dose´nt help

i dont know what to do (

hi

i have a dual core pc with windows xp pro on it.
2 GB Ram
Mbox2
Protools 7.4


the Problem is, that till yesterday pro tools worked on my pc, after installing some Plugins and Software(Witch i allready uninstalled) pro tools does´nt work and i get 0x80000003 Problem during startig the Software. Some Peaple says that i have to uninstall all what i installed yesterday, i did it, but it does´nt work.

what does 0x80000003 means?

If you have System Restore enabled, I would try to roll your system back to a few eeks ago and see if that helps. Just because you uninstalled something, does not (unfortunately) mean that it is now completely gone.

hm. but when i do this, all my Setting in windows and alle the Setting in my software, also new installation are gone

Are you sure about this? Maybe you should do this anyway and reinstall protools(and be extra careful to follow the install instructions in the Getting Started Guide as it is easy to make a mistake.

Yesterday i wanted to do this but, my windows says "System Restore Can not be Complete" , it means for me, i can not use protools on my pc, maybe after formating
this 0x80000003 Error is not a protools-problem but windows i think, i dont know what that menas.

i allready looked for uninstall files for the Plugins witch i installed, but could not find anything, thies plugins did´nt have uninstall maybe.. now i have no idea where i can find the Dll´s or some drivers witch cause this Error to my Pro tools.

i would like to know witch dll or so, make this Erros

Which plug-ins did you install and where did you get the installers from?

There's not much I'm finding with that error - Google doesn't turn up much and our internal database makes no reference to it.

Maybe knowing exactly what you installed will help us determine where things went wrong.

Uninstall Pro Tools , Uninstall any Pace Interlok or iLok drivers. ReBoot.
Run the PT uninstaller tool to hopefully remove any stray PT traces of PT. reboot. Download and install the latest Pace imterlok Drivers and iLok drivers if you have a iLok. Reboot....Install Pro Tools. Reboot and you should be good to go.

If you copy down the whole string of 0x80000 numbers and punch that into the search box of Google (correctly....)it should take you to the page in the MS knowlage base and give you a idea of what just went wrong.

9 out of ten BSODs (Blue Screen Of Death) in PT are caused by old out dated PACE driver drivers. The correct name is a terminal stop error. They tend to be caused when the OS detects a hardware or driver related issue that going to cause physical damage to the machine and it tells it to shut down. Writing down and punching the whole error string into Google may seem like a pain but it more often then not will tell where the problem lies.

If the step by step scenario that I gave above for cleaning up and reinstalling PT doesnt fix the problem write down both the stop code (the 0x8xxx number string) and any description from the stop screen E.G. "Problem with a Device Driver" or "Bad Pool Caller" and post back.
