Can't load Pro-Tools

Everytime i try to load up Pro-Tools, I get a message saying that it is unable to locate my Digidesign hardware (in my case the 002Rack). Anybody else experiencing these problems, or know how to fix it? The firewire cable is definitly connected to both the computer and the 002Rack. Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

Hey, that makes 2 of us. I've been happily working with the 002 for some time now and "BAM" this morning out of nowhere I get the message "Unable to locate the digi hardware"! I have not installed anythng or changed a thing on my computer. WHAT GIVES HERE DIGI?

I so far changes ports, cables and rebuilt disk permissions, no luck yet!

Mine just came back on and after 10 minutes it's out again losing communications. Any techs out there?

Okay, I'm impatient so I did an extensive search and found many people with this problem. It's the power harness, digi will send you a new one or take it to a service center. Me, I opened mine up and removed the harness cleaned the oxidation with contact cleaner, reseated the harness, put it back together and I'm up and running now. Either chance it if you have the nerve or call digi! Good Luck!
