It seems that this one fits us all (from Rush, The Spirit Of Radio):

All this machinery
Making modern music
Can still be open-hearted
Not so coldly charted
It's really just a question
Of your honesty

One likes to believe
In the freedom of music
But glittering prizes
And endless compromises
Shatter the illusion
Of integrity

My girlfriend saw him play a few years ago...(just him and his keyboards) He played one of his songs and then finished it and was like "ok now I'm going to play that song again but much faster" then he turned the tempo up like 4 bpm on his keyboard and played the exact same thing again.

brilliant!

Bob Dylan has got some great lyrics... and I'm not just talking his commercial hits!

Quote:
My father was a travelin' salesman, I never met him.
When my mother died, my uncle took me and he ran a funeral parlor.
He did a lot of nice things for me and I won't forget him.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">
Quote:
Oh, the French girl, she's in paradise and a drunken man is at the wheel,
Hunger pays a heavy price to the falling gods of speed and steel.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">
Quote:
Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">... Here is a theory I entertain, but I am not sure... If you look at all of Dylan's Mr. Tamborine's lyrics I bet you it is partly inspired by a great book/movie called: "Zorba the Greek" (If you try to rent the movie, it stars Anthony Quinn & Alan Arkin in it)

Quote:
He woke up, the room was bare
He didn't see her anywhere.
He told himself he didn't care,
pushed the window open wide,
Felt an emptiness inside
to which he just could not relate
Brought on by a simple twist of fate.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">
Quote:
His clothes are dirty but his hands are clean
And you're the best thing that he's ever seen
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I better stop while there is still a little daylight left Sorry about me going on and an...

oh yeah what about Monty Python? here's an excerpt from "The Meaning Of Life":
Quote:
Every sperm is sacred,
Every sperm is great,
If a sperm is wasted,
God gets quite irate.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">

"Do you see the analogy? We're the Oilers, the World Bank-the Flames! And two minutes remain in the 7th game of this best of 7 series! Yeah, Jesus saves! Gretzky scores! The workers slave, the rich get more. One wrong move and we risk the cup. So play The Man, not the puck."

Okay, so that's more than one line, but if you say it real fast, it sorta blends. Usually, people don't like this one too much, but I think it's classic. Of course, it's total communist propaganda...then again, I'm sort of a commie . Here's some more:

"And yes, I recognize the irony that the very system I oppose affords me the luxury of biting the hand that feeds. But that's exactly why priviliged ***** like me should feel obliged to whine and kick and scream...until everyone has everything they need."
