Default ATTN GUITARIST: EFFECTS PEDAL QUESTION

ok, i am looking for an effect and i have no idea how to explain it. i was listening to an aerosmith song named "don't stop" and the lead guitarist (joe perry) uses this awesome sounding effect at the very begining of the song....as well as other recordings from between 1993-97.

if anybody could download this song (aerosmith - dont stop) and tell me what hes using i would be EXTREEMLY THANKFULL, thanks

Hey Bi0,
I checked it out...great song. I love that big kick drum. On the guitars, you must be talking about the solo, because it's the only guitar I hear with a unique effect on it. I have the same effect with my Digitech RP2000 processor, and it's called 'Slider'. It raises the pitch of what you're playing as you step on the pedal, up to at least an octave. Mine can be a little noisy, and I'm sure he's using a much better version of it.
The RP2000 is now something like the GR-2, which you may want to check out.

I think that Digitech makes a Whammy pedal also that will give you that same effect.

Finalcut,
You're right, the effect on mine is called 'Whamit'. I was thinking it was 'Slider', which is similar, but now that I'm hooked up, I see you're right.

Thanks, Roy
