Help Quick punch keyboard shortcut

Hi,

I am using pro tools LE 9.6.2 on mac os x 10.4.2 Tiger. When I put quick punch mode on I can not get the keyboard short cut command + spacebar to work I have to quick punch with my mouse. Can anybody tell me if i am using the correct shortcut or not or what am i doing wrong.
