I dont have a tele, i have a strat ;D (implying its any better for heavy stuff)

Im buying a Les Paul soon. A friend brought his over, plugged it in, and i was in heaven.

Key point......for sure. I'm using some modified Ibanez J Customs and an Ibanez 7 string and it's like...... Great tone and sounds.

Can't wait to see what they add next year!

I have a 7 string Ibanez and 7 string Schecter both loaded with EMG's more than enough to get some really, really heavy tones from the 11R. But then again I really like to go way out there with the heavy tones, some might call it sonic mayhem .

Just use some of Benoni's presets as a guide they are "very" good.

And if you call "Lamb of God" grunge, then what band do you consider metal .

This is important. Most people see the 10 on the "distortion dial" and think, "hmmm...metal must got to 10." Roll it back. 9...8...maybe 7. It really gets rid of the muck.

Yeah i found that out when i first started recording, that the insane presetwith the highest gain on my Line 6 Spider II amp, was not the one to use for fast stuff. or it would just sound like smuck

This, plus don't be afraid to keep the master volume lower. I find that the higher gain models can get a bit mushy if you crank the master. With the SLO I often have it set about halfway, and even lower on the Recto.

+1. I own the 11R for a week or two and that was the first thing I noticed. People complain about the tone when they have gain at 10. When you take the time to listen carefully to some of the chuckiest riff in metal history, they were not "over the top distortion".

To the OP : I acheive really good lamb of god tone (I play some) with the modern DC and even the M-2 lead (the later being a little trickier). I roll back the gain (at 12 or 1 o'clock) in favor of the amp output and boost the mids with a post EQ. You may want to add the green od if you are trying it with the M-2.

I'll try to do a real patch somewhere this week and let you know

The other thing by rolling the gain back is when you double track the guitars and pan them hard right and left. The seemingly lower gain suddenly become very thick! Use mid-range to taste. Cut back a touch of bottom as well....that is what the bass guitar and bass drum are for.

If you dont record them twice, it sounds thin, and like utter crap in my opinion
