VX Pocket Recording
Hi,
I'm using a PowerBook G3 / 333MHz / 192M RAM and a VX-pocket sound card. This should work perfect with the VX but what happens ... I can import audio tracks that are already on a hard disk; I can work with these tracks in PT and monitor it trough VX - works fine; but when I want to record a new track, I have to: 1_ quit PT 2_ set the sound input manually to VX 3_ restart PT 4_ record the track 5_ quit PT again 8_ set the input back to Mac built in 9_ restart PT if I don't follow these steps, I'm not able to record through VX or PT is playing back a strange distorted sound ( sounds like a wrong digital sync) Is there anything I do wrong? I suppose this has only something to do with the vx driver? Is there any solution, because this could be a great portable solution !!! ------------------ Stijn

Re: VX Pocket Recording
Digigram say that PT5 Free doesn't work properly when recording using the VX Pocket. They are supposed to be working on a fix.

Re: VX Pocket Recording
This was my email to Digigram: Are there plans for updated drivers, so the VX Pocket will work with Pro Tools Free just as well as Powermix? This is the email returned to me from Marc Bénard at Digigram: Hello, Powermix worked with VX Pocket sound manager driver. This driver has not changed. But now there is Digidesign Pro Tools Free and it does not work. So, not sure it is on the Digigram side. See Digidesign user forums, there are a lot of non-enthusiasts, whatever the sound board brand. Anyway, Digigram agrees that the VX pocket+PT Free would make a great bundle. Re: VX Pocket Recording
Same problems. For playback try opening the Hardware Setting window and closeing it. You don't need to change anything. This sould take care of the "distortion" issue. I however still get short pausing during playback. But it doesn't affect bouncing to disk. I can bounce a mix to disk and play it back in Peak without a problem.

Re: VX Pocket Recording
I've got this reply from Digigram:
Hello Stijn, We are aware of those problems and are currently working on it. We do not have a fix for the moment, but hopefully will have one pretty soon. Regards, Laurent Digigram Technical Support ------------------ Stijn
