Default Is it safe to use a G4 500 yet?

I remember reading about problems with PT stability on the G4 500. I am getting one for a good price and wonder if these issues were resolved with OS 9.0.4.

I have a G4 500 for my PT 24 MIX+, and everything's grand. I've been on it since May. I'm on 9.0.2 though, and don't know what the difference is between 9.0.2. and 9.0.4.

Thanks for your response! What are you using for a midi interface? I have a serial port MTP A/V and have ordered a GeeThree port. I was under the impression that there are timing issues with the USB interfaces.

I haven't heard of the problems with the MTP A/V USB timing. I have one, and haven't had problems with it as yet, but admit that most of my work is non-midi--I focus mainly on post (sound design, foley, mixing, (I have AV option), so my midi hours are low in my current setup.
Less time--less problems?? Who knows, but it sounds like you're fixed up regardless. Good luck Cander--Mark
