Default Figuring out Latency Compensation in Pro Tools TDM system

Hi everyone,

I am trying to figure out how does PT latency compensation works.

I have a legacy Pro Tools HD2 system with Pro Tools HD 8.1.1 and UAD2 quad.

My settings are as they appear in the picture attached.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/2q12rcwdwf...11.17.png?dl=0

If I insert just one UAD LA3A plugin on one of my tracks, the latency goes to the sky, and it cannot compensate.
See image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/3ddfq0uqpu...ency1.png?dl=0

Inserting just one Fabfilter Q2 plugin on one track inserts 16520 samples of delay!! Check image: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6a7b7zec6u...18.11.png?dl=0

Are my settings correct? Is there something I am doing wrong? Is 4095 samples that the max latency compensation PT HD2 can go?

Thank you

UAD has very good documentation that describes their plugin latency, some quite high due to up sampling and usual algorithm issues like look ahead. And that is in addition to the latency through the large IO buffers needed to run with UAD plugins since you are exiting Pro Tools and going out to external hardware (kind of the very opposite of TDM/DSP). And yes old TDM systems are limited to 4K compensation-well described in the Pro Tools documentation.

The trick was to set the buffer size lower, thank you.
