Spectrasonics crashing Protools 6.7.cs8 on 10.3.8

I'm using Spectrasonics Trilogy, Stylus and Atmosphere but whenever I try to insert one of them Protools crashes instantly. This doesn't happen with my other soft synths eg. Native instuments B4. I'm using 6.7 cs8 on a G5 with OS 10.3.8...I've tried binning the prefs and upgrading the Spectrasonics synths in case they were out of date but no joy....help

I'm using trilogy on mac G5 osx10.3.8 PT6.7c8 and it is working fine, with just very occasional quits!

Are you inserting into a stereo audio track? are you sure you have the latest updates? 1.2 for trilogy is the latest?

Your RAM may be too low. All Stylus loops are stored in RAM.

I use 2.5GB RAM in my G5, and it's running super smooth with Stylus.

Also very important: Make sure you have the latest software versions of each.

I Have TDM and 4 gigs of RAM. I had the problem in the past , it disappered (formatted drive) and now it's back again System crashes using Atmos , Stylus and Trilogy. Tried everything possible. Spectrasonics support sucks.Please anybody help us !!!

Hi,

I would suggest un-installing them all, and re-installing just one to see if that works and then install another one etc etc. it might be just one of them that is causing a conflict. make sure you install on the system drive.

Repair disk permissions after every install and update. under disk utility!

List your total system here along with all other plugins and a detailed description of how it crashes and what you are doing when it quits.

do you get a crash log? or does it completely close PT or freeze the OS.

Thanks to all for the help, but I'm ashamed to admit that I had 'File sharing' switched on, I switched off and everything worked perfectly again. Duhhhh! It's an easy one to do I guess but heyho I'll try to remeber next time.

Yes my file sharing is off, wouldn't fall for that old chestnut!

And did you click to lock any further chanages!?

system prefs/internet and network/sharing/OFF
