Default Anyone have any idea about the next DIGI product??

I'm thinking of getting an Mbox, but I haven't heard great reviews on it, unless you want to go away and just jot down ideas.

I have a 002, its ok. Anyone have any rumors at all on what may be happening end of this year???

Look for a new, ultra-portable usb-powered high latency 1 channel audio interface featuring buggy core audio driver coming soon!

And the name for this new "ultra-portable usb-powered, high latency, 1 channel audio interface featuring buggy core audio driver coming soon!" is ProTools Free OSX, now only usable if u purchase the totally un-necessary Digi dongle to go with it...

Well, it wouldn't surprise me...

Digidesign will be going bankrupt and joining Alesis in making low end audio equipment. Apple will offer a Logic competitor upgrade for a really low price for Protools owners and everyone will be very happy in the end. Riding a dinosaur just puts you in the Gas Tank of a more efficient mode of transportation.

I Who Fear The Numbers 10, 6 & 5 says:

What would be cool is an 8-in, 8-out, ADAT/SPDIF-in gizmo with 2-pretty good pres and MIDI and controls upfront with phantom power and it'll be blue with a green light and...HEY!!!!

So in conclusion, no one has any idea really.

I hate the current line up of Protools LE rigs.

003

Pci express

( skip that X crap and meet apple in express )

Because Pci express is backwards comp with Pci x and its peers

18 inputs - 24 out

midi in out ( maybe a thru )

With 4 pres from the 002 but the pad and phanton switches on the 001

doesnt this make everyone happy

the 002's for power books 003 for Power macs towers

003 - two thousand

$$$$$$

Hi Stoogee,
if you hate the LE line up so much, how come you usee an 002 in your Studio ?

AM lll, then 001, and now 002 have earned me a decent living for several years now, and I can't think that anything else that would have done it so well. Sure there's always things to wish for or want improving, but I can't imagine running the Studio without Pro Tools.

Each to their own, I know, but if you hate it so much, sell it & try CuBase !

i really hope digi allows us LE users to have all those 32 voices simultaneously with the next hardware offering. in other words, 32 channel i/o minimum. they could skip analogs altogether only giving several adat i/o ports and several spdif i/o ports, and they could offer it in a nice 1U rack unit. it is really possible, so don't flame me about suggesting such a device.

more specifically, the 003R should have four pairs of spdif i/o having an option to have those ports smuxed - giving the user the option of choosing either 16 channel i/o at 88.2/96khz or 32 channel i/o at 44.1/48khz. the device should also have more than one (four maybe?) spdif i/o and most importantly: wordclock i/o.

DIGI: give us an unbelievably great LE hardware option to be proud of. that will not eat sales of HD systems, because those people who cannot live without DSP hardware will not even think about buying LE hardware but will buy what they need. but us LE users will need something that prevents switching to the dark side (logic et al.) completely.

32 voice limit is enough. don't limit the hardware any more. give us plentiful hardware and the option to use those 32 voices the way we feel most appropriate. currently, there are no options: we must use 16 i/o plus one spdif i/o and the voice count don't even begin to come in the way. come on !!!
