Default Waves plugin install problem

Hello all, put together my new rig today. All my installers ran flawlessly except for Waves. The plugins show up in PT10 but not 11. If I do a plugin rescan it prompts me asking where it is, so I direct to it, but it tells me it's not a valid 64 bit file.

I found another poster on here saying that McAfee was responsible for the same issue on his computer, but I don't have McAfee. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Hey

Do you have the latest 64 bit AAX installer from Waves as RTAS versions won't work in PT11 so you need the latest versions. Also do a plist delete and let PT rescan all plugins again.

Best Regards
Christopher

Hello.

Yeah, I have the latest installer downloaded directly from Waves just minutes prior to install.

I had PT10 & 11 co-installed on my last system and didnt run into this.

Argh! This has me pulling my hair out.

Just uninstalled everything, re-booted, re-installed again. Same deal.

It was the newest version of the installer, Vr20.

I emailed Waves last night and they responded this morning. I did the standard uninstall, then they recommended find ANYTHING left behind and deleting that, too. So I did, then re-installed and it worked. What puzzles me is that the first time I installed it, it was on a brand new, fresh windows 7 install, so there were no old traces of old Waves stuff to mess with it anyway.

This happened to us aswell after we bought a new MBP retina and I had to reinstall 3 times to get all our Waves plugins to work in PT11HD

Ah well / Glad to hear you have sorted that out and can get back to making music

Best Regards
