Default Persisting PT Bugs

I've got three very annoying PT issues that have not been resolved even with any Pro Tools upgrades (Currently on OS X 10.9.5/ PT 12.7.1). Starting from the most annoying:

1. When previewing automation, sometimes (not always) plugins deny altering their parameters irrespective of whichever method I try (ICON, mouse, mouse's scrollwheel). I have to save, exit and re-open, engage the automation and try again

2. While unliking Edit and TL sellection the [ and ] shortcuts do not play back the edit selection and TL selection respectively.

3. Some times (it's less now on 12.7.1), when using the trimmer to modify the Clip Gain on a Clip Group, the bottomost clip of the group "breaks out" of the group. The rest remain. This never happens when using the keyboard shortcuts. Only when using the mouse.

Has anyone come across these at all?

Hi Antonis,

Probably not what you want to hear...

We don't experience any of these bugs.

Mac Pro (Late 2013) OSX 10.10.5, HDX, D-Control, PT 12.7.1

Yeah, same here. Those bugs must be 10.9.5 specific. I am on 10.10.5 too.

Video engine however.......

Point 1 is a common frustration here. I get it whenever I use ctrl+click on the eq7 to adjust the Q (in preview mode). After I write to selection and exit preview mode, the band I just ctrl+clicked is now stuck. This is resolved by exiting preview mode, de-activate the plugin and re-activate again. There is no need for me to restart.

/edit
PT HDX 10.5.2, OSX 10.10.5, but this bug has been around a long time

Eq7 is buggy as hell. Avoid & go Pro Q2 and never look back.

I had a friend call me and ask why "copy all automation" was greyed out. EQ7 bug. Fine in Altiverb...

Sounds like a parameter got confused about it's touch state.
I've just been squashing bugs like this in the new Spanner and I think there will always be potential for parameters to end up in this state.
De/Reactivating the plugin is the solution.

OK, thanks all.

Sorry to read that you guys have to suffer through these as well!

At a point, I thought that the Gefen USB to Ethernet - and back - extenders to the machine room might have been causing the issue but alas no.

I am currently in the process of building a 10.10.5 drive now.

You're right on the money sir. I do have my own license for Q2 and ever since it seems there is little point for anything else (apart from the DMG Equality/ Equilibrium perhaps). It's the day job, stock plugin template that is "forcing" me using EQ7.

OK, I'll give this a try next time I stumble on this. Thanks.
