Default Audio restoration on AVI files?

I am trying to quickly clean up the audio on 133 shorter AVI files. I have been able to get izotope RX to clean up the audio well if I separate the audio from the avi. However, I am trying to find the fastest and best way that I can batch process something like this. If I separate the audio from the video to do the audio clean-up, then is there a way to quickly put video back with the new audio in any kind of batch processing way?

How would you go about applying noise reduction on 133 AVI files?

I should clarify, that it is in AVI format for a companies security camera thing. That is why it is in AVI format. I can't seem to get the video to play on these files either (I've tried on both PC and Mac). So the more I could just work with the audio on the AVI, the better.

Sony SoundForge (PC) can open and save .avi files.
It also has some batch processing capability and supports VST plug-ins.

I'm not sure if you will be able to save the .avi file if your system doesn't have the video codec though.. I'd be happy to test it if you can post a small example somewhere.

I have Sound Forge 8. I never use it though. I'll give it a shot and see what I get. That would save a ton of time if it works as we would hope it would.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Default Re: Audio restoration on AVI files?

I just thought I would come back and report my long lost failure with Sound Forge.

After spending a few hours getting Bootcamp up and running and getting new antivirus software and etc. so that I could run Sound Forge 8 on the PC. I just kept hitting dead ends.

I could bring all the AVI files into Sound forge and even get the batch processing to render izotope RX on the videos, but izotope RX is buggy with Sound Forge 8. The rendered versions of the noise reduction never sounded the same as when I adjusted the controls with it playing back in real time.

On top of that, after the rendering happened, I couldn't save the files because I was using the geov codec (which is PC only). So I had to save the files one by one as Save As... The problem with this, is that Sound Forge would then move forward to rendering these 10 mb video clips into 10 GB video clips. Not only did it take forever per file, but it was filling up my disk fast. I could export the videos as WMV files which were smaller, but it took even longer to render them to those files.

After spending 5-6 hours trying to get this to work, I'm done. Perhaps a video editing program can batch process this sort of thing much easier.
