Default Zoom bug

Sometimes I can't zoom past a certain point, when I want to draw out a click. This happens randomly on a system I work on for a major network TV show. D24, 9600/350, PT 5.0.1 with 3 farms.I no likee this when it happens. Why?

I had this problemo and it was a stray automation point on the outskirts of the session- check your tracks on the session(s) in question and delete the point(s). You could also rebuild track by track with track transfer to find the offending track that way. hope this helps..

Thanks for your reply Irene, it seems to be something a bit more elusive. I will be able to do zoom out to sample resolution for awhile but then suddenly I can't anymore. It stops zooming at a certain point much less than sample resolution. Any other suggestions... digi?

Benderbro-

Did your media come originally from an AVID session?

I had this happen, but only on particular files that had been OMF'd from a session cut on an older version of the AVID.

Some of the files were somehow corrupted, and it was not possible to get to a tight enough zoom to use the pencil tool.

I had to go back and get original media, and re-convert/import the files in question.

Yes this is avid media (media composer version 7.1) originally but this is a well known major network syndicated "how to" show and we crank out an episode a day usually without this bug. I would say it pops up about 10% of the time or less.
