Default Quick drop polywavs into session

Hello!

I've often got back from a recording session with over 100 polywavs recorded onto a Sound Devices 744 (take 1, take 2, take 3 etc etc) typically with 3 or 4 channels (1 or 2 boom mics and 1 or 2 radio mics) and it takes me forever just to get them into a session.

I'm wondering if I'm missing a trick and there's a quick way of batch processing them? If you select them all in Finder and drop them in at the same time they obviously drop into Pro Tools each on its own track but I'd like them to drop in sequentially so Channel 1 always on Track 1, Channel 2 always on Track 2, one after the other like that. (I've attached a screen shot of what I'm after).

Is that possible or will I always have to do it manually?

If this is not a video project, where you receive an AAF with a mix track and you therfore cannot use the field recorder workflow,
this might help al little bit.
Import the audio into the clip list
sort by : track/format width
timeline drop order : from left to right
select all mono channel audio in clip list, drag to track,
select all 2 channel audio, drag to track,
select all 3 channel audio, drag to track,
select all 4 ....
maybe even in shuffle mode, to have them automatically lined up back to back ( and the mouse dragging action is reduced).

ah! Thank you Joachim - "timeline drop order : from left to right" was exactly the thing I've been missing!

I've just tried dropping in a load without the bit where I select all channel 1's etc and it's worked perfectly because they all load into the Clips list in the right order.

Perfect!
