Default Preferred Memory

Where do you make the changes in Preferred Memory, I've dug thru the book and can't seem to find where this is done... I'm trying to open a large session (it's a live record that's 18 tracks, 24 bit depth, 48 minutes each) and I need to bump up the PTLE and DAE memory allocations... I'm running a G4 450 w/768 RAM, 5.1 LE - Thanks for the help!

Default Re: Preferred Memory

I do it like this:

Select the application you want to increase by hightlighting it (make sure it is closed and not open) and then press "control-I" This will open the information window. Select "Memory" on the pull down window. Then increase the memory in the LAST (bottom) box.

From Didi:

Make sure your memory setting are as follows. Pro Tools preferred memory should be set to
@20,000-35,000k. DAE preferred memory should be set to @30,000-50,000. Pro Tools and DAE
minimum memory setting should be left at its default. You can confirm this by entering a zero into the
minimum field and pressing enter on the keyboard, this will default the minimum memory setting. DAE's playback buffer size (Finder/DAE/File Menu/Set Playback Buffer Size) should be set to #2 The Disk Cashe setting in the memory control panel (Apple Menu/Control Panel/Memory) should be set to 512k or lower.
