Default WIndows Compatibility - use AIFF or WMV?

i have a mac and use PTMP 7.4 using AIFF files as my default
file format

working with another who has PTLE 6.1 on Windows
and ive made up some skeleton sessions and have saved
a copy compatible with his system. I have checked off
Mac/PC compatibility and am only creating a .PTS file
and the relating audio files in .AIF

he has had some issues opening and playing the files i have
sent to him.. he has yet to be specific with his specific issues
so a lot remains to be sussed out...

will saving as .WMV help PC compatibility at all?

.aif is Apples version of .wav, .wav works on both Apple and Windows and is actually preferable for those running Intel Macs.
