No takers on this one.

Does this mean that its really crap or unquestionably good?

This is MAudios latest offering on mic pre-amp with valve type harmonics and AD combined.

I like the sound of the spiel but am concerned that it may be sales pitch hype.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I'd be concerned about the handsome faceplate and VU meter windows at that price range. When a designer devotes that kind of money to electronics packaging, yet intends to retail a piece for $800, there's very little money left to implement the cicuitry.

What's that saying about the proof being in the pudding???

I hate to get into this (you'd think I'd learn my lesson), but I don't see how we can pass judgement on this or any other new piece of hardware or software without actually physically and aurally checking it out first. Personally, I think the new Tampa looks very interesting and since I'm still not a part of the Kennedy clan, it fits my ever-anemic budget. That's as far as I'll go though since I've yet to spend any time with one.

I'd like to hear from someone who has actually used one or at least checked one out in a store. BTW, the next issue of EQ magazine is supposed to have a Tampa review.

Anyone used one.

Is adding "valve-type" harmonics across the full spectrum a good idea?

And how does it sound (eyes closed of course)?
