Default Should I install PT 8 before or after I plug in my 002r that will install drivers?

I bought a new mac cause I could get PT 8 to work correctly on the last one. Hardware Buffer always came up and other various errors. Believe me I tried everything you could possible do to trouble shoot, including talking to 3 support agents.
I just want to make sure I get it right this time.

Please tell me in what order should I install protools?

Should I install PT8...
then plug in my 002r that will install the drivers...
and then plugins?

Or plugins first, plug in 002r w/drivers and then install PT8.
It probably doesn't matter but if someone out there thinks it does I'll listen.
Thank you.

There are no "drivers" to install. (this isn't a windows system) Your 002R needs to be plugged in before you actually install PT.

Your 002R needs to be plugged in before you actually install PT.
Actually, not really the case - you don't have to have your hardware plugged in during installation on a Mac.

You do, however, need to have the 002R turned on before booting up the Mac and using Pro Tools.
