Do HDX cards steal voices for using "Native" on a AUX
This is the break point for me. I'm NEED to order a new system in the next week or two.
I'm on the fence between HDN and HDX card. Do HDX cards use a voice for using a "Native" AAX plug on the Aux? when I have 10 stereo Altiverbs on auxes, there goes 20 VOICES! I have a feeling just due to the way its gonna be setup, that HDX will steal voices. I can't seem to find an answer anywhere... There's hardly any (specific) info I can find on the actual use of HDX cards. Yes I know they arn't out yet.

Has there yet been a statement made on the number of voices available on an HDX setup?

ask the same question at RSPE's demo last night,
they do but, you have 256 voices per card and you math is off it is 40 voices, 20 out / 20 in

yep not 256voices at 88.2 that's the problem you just answered my question... As much as I love HEAT HDN for me it is!

Craig
How was the event? We're a lot of people interested in HDX? Thanks |

Yes, this has been posted on here but I have no idea where I saw it, it's probably in one of the threads that got overwhelmed with pricing complaints. The voice penalties still apply since you are sending a signal in and out of the DSP mixer... However unlike HD, adding more cards increases the voice count by 256 for each card.

Re: Do HDX cards steal voices for using "Native" on a AUX
I was at the 7:30 it was well attended 2.5~3 times what they can hold in there shop
they loaded a mix that was originally done on 4 HD3s on a HDX2 with about 5 chips per card untouched, 5.1 mix, 263 tracks, all playback from 1 drive overall I was impressed with it
