Default Opening Mac OS session files with Windows 7

Hello,
I have a batch of sessions created in Mac OS that I want to open with a Windows machine. I'm in the process of installing PT 10 on my PC as I want to move away from using the Mac all together. That will probably be another post regarding licensing!
The Mac files are stored on an external hard drive. So the drive is formatted for Mac OS journaled.
Need suggestions regarding ability to open the sessions and the problem of reading the drive with windows.

thx

Mac OS 10.8.5 mountain lion
Windows 7
PT 10

Use one of the translation applications like MacOpener to read the drive on Windows, but I would copy the sessions to a Windows-formatted drive before using, as I think the translation would slow things down.

thx for the tip. In the time I posted this, I installed PT 10 on a windows laptop and the process basically failed. Resource issues unbelievable. I'm wrestling with what to do with my archival PT Mac sessions before my 8 year old Mac Pro bites the dust.... Tired of Apple at this point.

Try MacDrive. Or I believe there is a program from Paragon that will also work.

I use MacDrive here and it works dandy. The Paragon utility looks great, but it completely hosed my rig(no idea why. if you try it, save a drive image first, in case you have a problem, so you can revert). The only other possible stumbling block is if(the great big IF) the Mac sessions are:
A-from an older version of PT where Mac/PC compatibility was an optional setting(IIRC, since version 8, its automatic)
or B-the old Mac sessions were done in SD II audio file format(which windows will not read).

You may want to check about PC/Mac compatibility as albee suggests while your Mac is still working and then using Save Copy In and checking that if available and Copy Audio and any other choice you want/need, like Wave/Broadcast Wave if the original files are SDII. This should ensure compatibility with your new PC and make a new session for each with only the audio used in the session.

Paragon HFS+ works great for me and has done for years just plug a mac formatted drive into my PC and away I go no need to copy sessions over at all there are no slowdowns or performance differences.
