Exclamation Bug in EQ3 and DYN3 aax version

There is a bug in EQ3 and DYN3 aax version.

The last decimal of a frequency is omitted in the MF, HMF, HF and LPF displays of the native aax version in the EQ3 plugin. The displays work fine in the dpm version, dsp and native.

Also there is something wrong in (the aliasing of?) the fonts and frequency curves in both the EQ3 and DYN3 native aax version. Fonts and curves look ok in dpm version, dsp and native.

Both these problems are evident in the following screen capture:

(view in actual size)

I'm using Pro Tools HD 10.1.2 (this behavior was also in 10.1.1) on a Mac Pro 2,26GHz Quad-Core, 8Gb, Os X 10.6.8, HD3

I tried searching the forum, didn't find any mention of this having been reported before.

I did a little further testing. The problem described above is also present in Pro Tools 10.1.2 on my Macbook Pro 15" 2,2GHz i7, 8Gb, Os X 10.7.3.

And also in the audiosuite versions of the plugins both on my Mac Pro and Macbook Pro setups.

Anyone else notice this?

If it function fine sonically then it's fine.
There are too many bugs, for too long, for too many people disturbing their workflow which awaited to be fixed. So IMHO this graphic glitch may be tolerated for sure if it doesn't affect the performance and the workflow.

I was asking if anyone else can confirm this bug, not if graphic glitches should be tolerated or not.

This certainly does affect me and my workflow. I just upgraded two systems, so I expect the products I paid for to function correctly.

I've been using Pro Tools since version 5 and sure, there has been bugs along the way. But this is the first time I haven't found any topics covering the particular problem at hand.

So I ask again, can anyone please confirm this bug?

Okay I can confirm that in 1-band and 7-band EQ3, there is a minor graphic glitch. This glitch is not presented on 4-band EQ3 though.
All instances are native.
Why I said it's a minor? Cause you can see this behavior on many other plugins e.g New Avid Channel strip, Brainworx BX-Digital, BX-XL e.t.c.
I think it has something to do with the font size smoothing.
Again I don't think it's a bug as it's not affecting performance in any way.

The main reason I reported this bug is the omission of the second decimal in the MF, HMF, HF and LPF displays of the EQ3 plugin.

That is not minor.

Then it's what? Off course a hundredth decimal is very critical number in a creative process but I am afraid no one can hear the difference between 9.80 KHz and 9.89 KHz. Even if it's a notch filter with very high gain values.

So if you want to be a "Bug Finder" - great you did it!
Also, folks on this forum usually are more tolerant to each other.
Peace.

Hearing the difference between 9.80 and 9.89 KHz could be challenging, but lower in the spectrum, let's say around 1 KHz, it should become more evident. I personally have no trouble discerning between 1.0 and 1.09 KHz. Luckily it is just a graphical bug, so it does not effect the audio, only visual feedback.

I have no interest of being a beta tester for Avid (unless a satisfactory fee is negotiated;), I only reported this because it affects my workflow and I want it fixed.

In the mean time, I found that I can move the aax plugin to the unused plugins folder, and continue using the dpm version. But this is a workaround, not a long term fix.

And I think I have tolerated you telling me what should be considered minor quite well, thank you. :)
