Default Melodyne for Guitar or Piano tracks?

I am considering getting Melodyne. I primarily record stringed instruments (guitar, steel guitar, ukulele etc.) How does Melodyne do on these polyphonic instruments? Can it handle pitch shifting a chord strummed or plucked on these instruments. Or is Melodyne only for single melodic line instruments?

Also, I noticed that Melodyne CR8 does not support RTAS. How do you use this program with PT6.7 LE?
Do you have to bounce each PT track to disk? I'm confused.

Thanks.

To use Melodyne effectively, you must use a monophonic source. The sound signature of a chord blows Melodyne up!

You can use Cre8 with PTLE by ReWiring the Melodyne session into the PTLE session. I have done it before with good results.
