Default R.I.P. Dick Dale

Richard Anthony Monsour AKA Dick Dale AKA The King Of Surf Guitar.

Born May 5th 1937, died March 16th 2019.

I remember the first time I hooked up a 2x15" bass cab to my 1x12" tube combo amp. .012 gauge strings on my Strat.

Big Badaboom!

Thank you Dick. May you catch the perfect wave for all eternity up there at The Great Gig In The Sky.

also, not mentioned much in the obits,
but he and Townshend did more to advance the state of amplification
(and still in use today)
than any other artists...

Also played with the strings in reverse order! Probably because he was left-handed and learned on a right-handed guitar flipped around. Sad news though.

I really like the videos of Dick Dale performing at Guitar Center. The band is tight and enjoying themselves.

There are a dozen or so separate videos from this event, all worth watching.
