Kernel Panic on Mac
I have a 2.4GHz Late 2008 Unibody MacBook running Snow Leopard and ever since I have installed ProTools 8 on the computer I have been getting kernel panics. Usually never when ProTools is actually open but after it closes and it does it at weird times like when I'm trying to shut down or quit safari. I'm pretty certain they are linked to ProTools because they only happen when ProTools has been opened. I downloaded the prerelease of 8.0.3 which is SL compatible hoping it would solve it but it didn't. I'm wondering how to solve this issue, should I wipe the drive and reinstall the OS or is there another way to alleviate this? I'd appreciate the help, thanks.

Re: Kernel Panic on Mac
Freaky weird poop can often be traced back to bad ram. Between Snow Leopard and PT8 some of your ram may have shat itself?
It's always the last place anyone looks. Run Activity Monitor/CPU and see if you can spot anything. No one wants to replace that expensive stuff, and will look anywhere else for the problems first. Try reseating your ram or swapping it out maybe?

Re: Kernel Panic on Mac
What interface are you using? If it's the Mbox 2, and you are plugging/unplugging it while your Macbook is still on, then that's the cause. It doesn't support hot plugging.
