Default i7 and Windows 7 blue screen of death

I think I originally posted this in the wrong section---my apologies for the repost.

I've been checking out the posts on i7 and Windows 7 Pro Tools compatability (stalking you guys in the background), but finally decided I needed to contribute---actually, to speak up and ask for help!

I've been through the blue screen of death when Pro Tools tries to load (in May), the "clock" problem and lack of playback after finally getting Pro Tools to load (in June), and now (in July of course) I finally have gotten it to run once or twice but I still get the blue screen of death most of the time when Pro Tools tries to load. Seems to be doing it toward the end of the loading procedure, and sometimes even after it appears to have loaded.

Could you guys check over my Sandra list and let me know if you see a blatant incompatibility problem? Any advice would be appreciated--thanks

SiSoftware Sandra

Which numeric version of Pro Tools? (please be as specific as possible, including the cs number)

Which Pro Tools hardware? (003? MBox?)

Which drivers are you using?

You are aware that support for Win7 64 is still BETA, right?

Do you have the latest PACE drivers?
Can you post a plugins list please? (using the Tech Support Utility, if possible)

And have you updated Pace Interlok drivers(out of date drivers can cause BSOD).

When I first initially installed the win7 audio drivers I also received the blue screen of death followed by a swift crash and a reboot.

First follow the directions perfectly.

http://avid.custkb.com/avid/app/self...p?DocId=350927

And when installing it make sure your network adapter is disabled as well as sound card.

After installing it I turned back on my network adapter and sound card, and it works fine. But during installation, I follow all of these rules...

Protools 8.0.3 Beta with "64 bit" audio drivers

Digi 002 Black Lion mod

Waves Mercury and stock Protools plugins

I'll try a fresh install and disable the network card and sound card---it seemed to have helped you, so I'll give it a shot.

thanks for any direction you guys have---anyone else got ideas to try? compatibility issues?

Since you're going for a fresh install. remove the Waves bundle and work on getting Pro Tools solid as a rock. Once that is accomplished, save an image of the system drive and then install Waves. Which version of Waves are you installing? If its the latest, then it SHOULD be okay, but any earlier version might be causing trouble.

Man--I think that new ProTools 8.0.4 fixed everything! It booted up without a problem, worked great for 30 minutes or so, closed the session okay. CPU was fantastic the whole time. Keeping my fingers crossed...wait a minute, I'm not superstitious. This has been a long road for a bunch of us

thanks again
