What are you listening to? (June 2002)
Hey all,
Time to step away from the HD tweaking tools for a minute and contribute to the greater common knowledge of new and interesting music out there. Mostly I'm interested in all the stuff that's emerging, but feel free to share anything. PLEASE INCLUDE STYLE/GENRE INFO!! Previous threads in this series are here: (May 2002) http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...;f=32;t=006813 (Feb 2002) http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...;f=32;t=005247 (Jan 2002) http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...;f=32;t=004695 My contributions this month are fun and weird. Enjoy. Kaipa - Notes from the Past - Progressive Rock - Roine Stolt The Flower Kings - The Rainmaker - Progressive Rock Marillion - Script for a Jester's Tear - Progressive Rock Table Beat Science - Tala Matrix - East Indian Trance/World Beat - Currently on my big stereo at a comfortable 94dB thank you. Re: What are you listening to? (June 2002)
Rudess-Morgenstein Project (RPM) - progressive rock. I listen to that every weekend to get juiced up to work on my own stuff, as well as the Kurzweil demos Jordan Rudess did. He's killer.
progrock.com internet radio - progressive rock. A fantastic selection of old and new prog with stuff by The Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Gentle Giant, and a smattering of things I gave to them. Panzer Dragoon soundtrack - electronic orchestral rock. This is a masterpiece. Did I say masterpiece? A MASTERPIECE. Composer (and possibly performer) Yo****aka Azuma is a genious, and tho he seems to like kick drum a bit too much, this is easily one of the best electronic rock albums I've heard in eight years. There are a couple of pieces which I believe are done by the Tokyo Philharmonic, very sweeeet. But mostly I'm listening to me for now. |
