Default too limiting

The limit of 3 sessions and no video is extremely lame.

And no Clip Gain? Why?

There's no required connection between price and features. The CHOICE to make those limitations what they are is lame.

Why would Avid not want people looking at Pro Tools as a possible sound-for-video solution to try their product? Eliminating video completely rules out all of those/us people.

Thats why the Trial versions are available for that scenario.

First is a low end "entry" version and should only be viewed as such.

Clip gain and video are features we all have to pay for and if they were included free what would thise of us who pay lots of money for our versions think of that?

It is a free version for entry level users to try out the workflow and GUI of PT world and then choose a version of their choice when the limits of the Free version is reached.

It has Collaboration features and in app purchases etc and I think you get a lot for free actually

It's crazy that you can't export from Protools First to ProTools standalone or HD.

Exactly this! Pro tools first should be great (16 tracks, effects and instruments...) but no export to local hard drive?????? What are these guys smoking?

It's designed for the kind of people that used a 4/8 track cassette recorder back in the day

Eheh...But then you could keep your recordings in your local "k7 drives"...maybe it's just me but this kind of "free" stuff is just weird!

Can you point us to where this limitation is documented? I have not noticed it in any of the info I've seen.

I would think that the "Everywhere" features in ProTools 12 would include a mechanism of importing from the cloud?
