CoreAudio Manager
Hi- I'm running an orig. MBox with PT LE 6.9.2 cswhatever on a G4 Powerbook 1.67MHZ
As of today, my Digi CoreAudio Manager launches at startup and also with almost every app I open. This has never happened b4 and it's annoying me! I haven't had my MBox hooked up for a few days... been out on the road... the only thing I did was try to uninstall the expired Waves demos I had on my machine. Other than that nothing new. For the 6 months I've had this system I've never had the CoreAudio Manager launch w/o me doing it. How can I stop this? BTW< I did do a search but it was fruitless! Thanks in advance for your help! |

Re: CoreAudio Manager
Here are a few suggestions:
1. Plug your Mbox in and launch the CoreAudio Manager once. This should refresh the state of eveything so that the Manager app will know not to auto-launch itself. 2. Make sure you have un-selected "Digi HW" in AMS or the Sound control panel. 3. If the Manager app is still auto-launching when you don't want it to, you can always move it to a different location, this will disable the auto-launch feature. You can still use it from a different location, but you'll have to manually launch it whenever you want to use Digi HW with a CoreAudio client app. To re-enable auto-launch just move it back to its original install location (/Applications/Digidesign). 4. Upgrade to 7.0. There's some new code in the CoreAudio driver that improves the auto-launch functionality, in particular it will never auto-launch if no Digi HW is connected. digi-eng |

Re: CoreAudio Manager
You can hold down "Shift" while you launch the other apps and Core Audio won't launch.

Re: CoreAudio Manager
Thanks- you know I thought maybe it might be that I need to hook up the MBox- I can't do that for a few days but will give it a try when I get home...

Re: CoreAudio Manager
I had the same problem.
Go to Utiliities ---> AudioMidi Setup ----> Audio Devices check to make sure your Deafaults are Built in Audio and not your MBox. All will be well |

Re: CoreAudio Manager
Just for anyone who searches this thread later- plugging the MBox in reset everything and all is well now.
