Light brown track mute button w no playback?

So I'm at a loss. I've got a song that keeps coming up with tracks like the kick channels, B3... (a handful) that are not playing back in the session. I can remove all the plugs, bypass automation, trash all prefs...the works and nothing changes. The common factor between all the channels is that the mute button is light brown while all the functioning tracks are clear. If I select the light brown mute button it becomes brightly illuminated like all normal mute selections. What in the world am I missing here?

I'm running OS 10.8.5 with PT 11.1.3 and all plugs check out to be current. The only thing I haven't done yet is recreate the session by importing.

Thoughts? Has anyone seen this or can you point me to a thread? I'm not finding any posts about this issue. Thanks in advance!

Just to clarify... there is nothing soloed. The light brown is similar to what you would get it specific tracks are soloed. A fresh session via Import didn't fix it. Maybe I need a clean install. Thanks again!

The light brown muted tracks, are they grouped and assigned to a VCA that is muted (and maybe hidden) ?

No hidden VCA... I reinstalled and it resolved. Very strange. Thanks for the input!
