Default What firewire card should I buy for PTs?

Just picked up a new AMD 1055t etc. but there's no fw and I gotta work.

What card is recommended?

You gotta love this thread. There was a time in which such a question wasn't possible.

Anyway back on topic. The interface you select is based on your needs. For example how much I/O do you need - do you need integrated Preamps, Do you need external sync, how many cue sends do need, do you have external hard ware needing buses, etc ....

I own multiple FW interfaces and each has a particular strength and application.

Let me know your thoughts on the items above.

I think the OP is asking about firewire cards, not interfaces. Those with a TI chipset are best and I think most SIIG cards are good. If you follow the link at the top of this page, it will eventually take you to a page with actual part numbers:

You could be right, Card or Interface. And .... agree on the TI CS with SIIG being my choice as well. Now we'll wait for the OP to sort this out.
