I agree. I can’t tell which plugins are active or inactive. This feels cheaply done.

Also why do all of my ruler tracks look like events are hiding “beneath the veil” of the color?

I think it would be nice to be able to customize some colors ourselves. I don't like the "Peache" background in edit view but as far as the black theme, i think this could be great with some adjustment. Ideally, customize by us.

For anybody else concerned (edit:) Setup>Preferences>UI Theme>Classic and be gone with this until Avid gets their act more together.

Yeah found it. It was hard to see in dark mode on my MacBook Pro. Also its Setup>Preferences>UI Theme>Classic.

Thanks for the correction, I'll edit that typo. Must have been my eyes were having trouble adjusting after being burnt out from looking at the waveform glare in dark mode.

It’s ok for me. Enough so I’m leaving it on as I prefer it slightly over classic mode. But I have heard complaints about it being hard to read some UI elements on 4K screens and I do agree it doesn’t feel/look very polished. More of a first draft.

i really want to love it but my first reaction was 'oh my god they've turned it into a cheap cubase or the ****ty dark mixer in DP'. its much harder to read lettering so im going to have to go back to classic as much as i wanted dark mode to be great!

i'm sorry avid but dark mode isnt in the pocket for me!
