Default Social Distancing: Remote Mixing

Remote mixing has been more of thing the last few years for us but with the current Social Distancing thing, what's the best way to stream Audio and Video to clients.

This would be for recording Sessions and Mixes.
Something tom allow the client to direct Actors and get the mix ballpark before posting QT's for final approval.

I dug up some old threads but some links were deactivated and thought maybe something new was out there.

I have clients that have used SE products with success. I'd start with them.

Yeah, I use Live & Nexus at the studio but my home rig is a Windows machine and they don't offer as many solutions.

Hm...then maybe a browser based solution like ipdtl.com (or similar).

Here too (mostly), and it is platform agnostic. I do get client end problems quite a bit where they often have to leave and rejoin the conference following it going very blocky, but much of this is at the mercy of local wifi issues perhaps.

Despite the gremlins, its massively preferable to Source Connect Live in my experience, where I could never get latency much below about 4 seconds which i found totally unworkable. With SLP its more like 0.2 seconds, much like mobile phone latency.

One tip though - sync can be an issue if you are screengrabbing. It's robust if you use it with a capture card. I use the Elgato HD60 S which is rock solid in action, the only minor PITA is it often doesn't work when I first join the conference, I have to leave, reset the video source and then when I rejoin it's solid.

I just ordered the 4k version. Think that version will work well with SLP? I want to use a dedicated PC for SLP streaming.

Did two sessions today and we used the Zoom app ( www.zoom.us ). It worked okay for sharing my screen, camera and stereo mix to remote client. Its not perfect, but it's ok...

Anyone happily running SessionLinkPRO using a sidecar CPU?

I've got a 3.33ghz 6core MacPro 5,1 / OS 10.12 sitting idle here, with a Kona LHi HD video IO installed.

In theory, the Kona LHi card would handle the encode in hardware... so it might perform reasonably well even though it's an older CPU.

I am getting a error like "unable to use video hardware". Ever see this one?
