thinking about getting a focusrite interface. Just a couple of questions though.

Has anyone had any "buffer underflowing" errors with the interface last in the FW connection chain?

Also is there a way to not use Mix Control at all? I'd prefer to use everything within Pro Tools.

No underflow errors but then again I don't have the FireWire chain - it's the only device that I'm using FW for

As far as the mix control you may not have to use that but I've never tried not using it - (you would have to use it for the liquid preamps) however if you want to take advantage of the low Latency mix control u would need it

For me, MixControl is what makes these interfaces so great - I use it in every tracking session to make up multiple sets of zero-latency headphone sends and it's incredibly versatile. But yes, if you don't want to use it at all just set it to the "DAW Tracking" preset and leave it as is.

True that.

MixControl has had its issues, but it's one of the best things about a Focusrite when it works. I haven't even thought about using LLM since I got my LS56.
