Default Digital Piano No Longer Registering in PT?

Hi guys,

I have a Yamaha P-105 digital piano connected to my Pro Tools system on a Mac via USB cable. Suddenly it is not reading on my DAW. Here are my DAW specs:

• PT 12.5.1
• Mac OS 10.13.4 (High Sierra)
•*Apogee Duet interface
• Yamaha P-105 digital piano connected vis USB

Please note that everything has been working for many many months with no issues with the keyboard connection. I did not do anything differently as far as I know. Just when I fired up the rig tonight, the keyboard no longer reading.

I took a screen shot of the Audio setup within PT. I also tried restarting my Mac, as well as unplugging and replugging the USB cable, to no avail.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Have you tried a factory reset?

Go to Setup/Preferences/MIDI and check if Default Thru Instrument is set to Follows First Selected MIDI Track

It's greyed out in Audio MIDI setup.

This isn't a Pro Tools problem. This is the keyboard not being seen by the computer (macOS.) Once it is seen again, it'll work with Pro Tools again.

Try a different USB cable.
Is the keyboard powered on/do you see power?
Try a different usb port on your computer.

Thank you, you were correct. It was an issue with the USB hub in which I have the digital piano plugged. I shut down my computer, power cycled the hub, plugged the DP into a different USB port on the hub, turned everything back on again and voila... back to normal. Thanks kindly for the help!
