Default 003 rack+ will not work with pro tools 9!

I've been trying to get it to work right for weeks.

I can get it to recognize it sometimes, but then all of a sudden it will just glitch out and switch to this "pro tools aggregate" crap, even though the mac system is communicating just fine with the 003.

I went through avid's optimization checklist for disabling updates and certain features in the OS to

I have an i7 Imac 27" running on 10.6.4 with solid state and HDD drive built in. FW800 to FW400 cable to my 003.

I have loaded the 003 family drivers and the DigiDioMidi bug fix.

How do I get this thing working again and how to I make it NOT jump back to the stupid pro tools aggregate setting (I never had these problems on PC with pro tools LE 7. This is very frustrating that I bought this beastly computer for pro Tools 9 only for pro tools 9 to render my only audio interface worthless.

I have seen other people having this problem on forums, but I havent seen any good answers.

Also, is something wrong with the search function for this forums? no matter what I type in it comes up with "no results found"

Please point me to the right discussions or help me if you know the problem. I think that there are some conflicting drivers somewhere, but I can;t figure it out.

Did you see that there are separate drivers for the RACK version?

I have seen reports that the FW800 to 400 may be problematic.

When booting, hold down "N" and you can select your audio engine.

sometimes 003+ works only with original FW 400 cable.

For Mac there is just a family driver.

It has nothing to do with the Firewire cable, it was working just fine before. It is something to do with conflicting drivers or drivers getting erased when I reboot the computer.

003Rack+ works with every firewire cable I've ever used, even a microFW 400 to old HP laptop.

No, it's not the cable.

Did you try booting while pressing "N"?

From Digi:

"Connecting 003 to a FireWire port of an external drive that is connected to a computer does not support maximum track count." Is your internal hard drive on the FW bus or on the SATA bus?
