this the hard drive i have been talking about. It said under internal storage that it is 5400 rpm

It said that where? ....,post a URL/link to the *exact* page you are looking at.

But whatever you are looking at you are confusing yourself or being confused by a poor web site, LaCie make that drive enclosure/package with different options, some a HDD (including a slow 5,400 drive), some an SSD. You want the SSD version. It is not a combo/hybrid drive, the SSD version does not have an rpm spec.
